About

Joel Morel is a Jewish and Hispanic-American actor, singer, dancer, and puppeteer based in New York and California.

Most notably, Joel was the original puppeteer for Gobo in The Jim Henson Company’s National Tour of Fraggle Rock Live—written and directed by Emmy winner and Tony nominee John Tartaglia.

He also appeared as Yasha in Marin Theatre Company’s The Cherry Orchard, directed by American Conservatory Theater’s Artistic Director Emerita Carey Perloff.

Joel graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts in 2024 with a B.F.A. in Drama/Musical Theatre from The New Studio on Broadway. He also studied Commedia dell’Arte in Florence with master physical acting teacher, Jim Calder.
